Start in Sunset Beach at 8:30 AM under the "Water Tower" beach rental and ride to the HB Pier on the bike path. Round trip about 13 miles. Breakfast/Coffee at the HB Pier before returning to Sunset Beach if everyone is interested. The pace we keep is mid-range Hybrid bike / Cross training speed. Sub5 was started for riders that want to work hard and learn skills to get to “the next level” while fundraising for a worthy charity. Most of us are just normal people and not super athletes, which means that we have to work harder / smarter and learn how to ride faster. This is a group of riders that are getting ready to ride in the Arthritis Foundation's CA Coast Classic Bicycle Tour in September. The tour starts in San Francisco and follows Highway One over eight days, ending in LA. Riders train for the tour from March through September.
